Custom Etsy Photo Order-- Minneapolis Architectural Photography
I'm currently in the process of working on a custom photo order for an Etsy customer who I found through the site's "Alchemy" feature, which allows sellers to bid upon custom projects. Typically people are asking for some sort of graphic design, gift suggestions for their 15 year old son, or something that is geographically dependant- as is the case in my project.
A woman from Wisconsin had and idea of a gift for her husband-- photographs of his favorite bar-- The Town Hall Brewery-- from when he was in college at the nearby U of M (Yes Michiganders there is another one) Her peramaters were something "artistic" which is where the difficulty is-- typically on Etsy I deal with customers who see the end result product-- my photographs-- and then make the decision of whether to purcahse or now. In portrait photography people can see examples of my work and have a reasonable idea of what teh resulting portraits would look like. Here I am left to decide what she would constitute artistic-- and actually not just her, but would her husband constitute artisic, and what would call him back to those fondly remembered times of his life. It has been a bit frustrating, but it is also intriguing to work on this puzzle of a project.
